Suresh Joachim, holder of over 60 Guinness World Records
Suresh Joachim, Canada’s top record holder, is an unassuming man. He readily admits to some of the records being really hard to achieve. “But then they would not really be records if they were easy, would they?” he asks.
Joachim has, among other things, produced and acted in a movie that was completed from start to finish in 13 days, drummed continuously for 84 hours, jogged 409 km on a treadmill in 48 hours and carried a 4.5 kilogram brick in an ungloved hand for 127 km.
Joachim’s motivation is two-fold. Disturbed by the impact of violence, poverty and disease on children, he wishes to raise awareness and funds for causes dear to his heart.
Growing up in a small town in Sri Lanka, power and fame seemed like a distant dream for Joachim. He now wants to show that someone who didn’t come from a privileged background can stake his claim to fame.
“To be successful, you have to believe in yourself and trust in God. And you have to work very hard – nothing comes easy.”
