On the 14th of July 2010, State Bank of India (Canada) hosted a Customers Relations Program at Hotel Novotel North York , to introduce the incoming President & CEO, Sunil K Tandon, and bid farewell to the outgoing President & CEO, Arun Nagarajan.
The event was attended by nearly 80 customers of State Bank of India (Canada) and several dignitaries.
Consul General of India Preeti Saran; Donald Stewart , Director of SBI Canada; Pradeep Sood, the first Indo-Canadian President of the Ontario chamber of Commerce; Harcharan Singh, CEO of Glopec International; and Ajit Khanna, Chairperson, Panorama India, were among those present.
Arun Nagarajan, the outgoing President & CEO, welcomed the guests to the Customer Meet and gave a brief overview of the operations of the bank. He introduced the new President & CEO Sunil Tandon, who had come in from SBI California .
He said the bank had steadily increased its product range and services. Presently the bank offers the entire range of products like Savings, RRSP, GICs, and Super Saver deposit (a hybrid scheme with GIC interest and checking account).In 2009, Tax free Savings Account had also been added to the product range.
SBIC is also to launch, within a period of three to six months, three new products – electronic funds transfer amongst banks in Canada, remittance to India through Internet banking and bill payment facility through arrangement with TelPay .The bank is constantly endeavoring to improve its services to the customers and thereby facilitate growth and development of the economy.
Sunil Tandon thanked all those present for the warmth with which he had been welcomed to the organization. He said State Bank of India, the parent bank of SBI (Canada), was listed at 282nd rank in the Fortune 500 list with a substantial improvement in ranking.
Preeti Saran commended the efforts of the outgoing CEO and welcomed the new CEO.
